Caretaker-manager John Carver has made seven changes to the Newcastle United starting line-up for Saturday's FA Cup third round tie at Leicester City (3pm kick-off).

With the fixture coming just 48 hours after the Magpies' top flight draw with Burnley, Carver has shuffled his pack and Davide Santon, Mike Williamson, Massadio Haidara, Vurnon Anita, Haris Vuckic, Adam Armstrong and Remy Cabella all start at the King Power Stadium.

Only goalkeeper Jak Alnwick, defender Paul Dummett, midfielder Cheick Tiote and striker Emmanuel Riviere remain in place from the Clarets' clash.

Despite the changes, Newcastle's starting line-up still boasts six senior internationals.

United are expected to start in a 4-3-3 formation, with Alnwick behind a back four of Santon - who makes his first appearance in nine injury-hit months - Williamson, Dummett and Haidara.

Dutch international Anita and Slovenian schemer Haris Vuckic will be deployed with captain Tiote in a midfield trio.

And in the final third, 17-year-old Armstrong and Cabella will play either side of former Monaco man Riviere, who has scored twice this season.

On a youthful substitutes' bench, French forward Yoan Gouffran offeres plenty of experience, and is joined by rookies Adam Campbell, Callum Roberts, Alex Gilliead, Gael Bigirimana, Lubomir Satka and Freddie Woodman.

Leicester City (4-2-3-1): Ben Hamer; Ritchie De Laet, Wes Morgan (c), Liam Moore, Paul Konchesky; Esteban Cambiasso, Matty James; Anthony Knockaert, David Nugent, Tom Lawrence; Leonardo Ulloa

Newcastle United (4-3-3): Jak Alnwick; Davide Santon, Mike Williamson, Paul Dummett, Massadio Haidara; Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote (c), Haris Vuckic; Adam Armstrong, Emmanuel Riviere, Remy Cabella
