Newcastle United's players have backed the #blackandwhitederby campaign which aims to turn St. James' Park into a sea of black and white for this weekend's Tyne-Wear derby.
Supporters are being encouraged to wear their favourite black and white attire including replica and retro shirts, scarves, hats and jackets for Sunday's match, enhancing what is already expected to be a highly charged atmosphere.
Steven Taylor, Paul Dummett and Jak Alnwick all took part in a special #blackandwhitederby photoshoot in the build-up to the derby, returning to the stands where they all roared the Magpies on as young supporters.
Taylor, who grew up in Whitley Bay, said: "As a young lad, my best memories are being in the Sir John Hall stand with my dad and as long as Newcastle won the game, it was always a happy one.
"As a player, it's always a good thing when you're in the tunnel and you come out there and you see everyone in black and white.
"It's a good vibe around the whole place and for us to start Sunday's game and see everyone in black and white will be a good moment."
Fellow defender Dummett, who grew up in Kenton, added: "You get that tingling feeling when you walk out into the stadium. In the game against Sunderland, it will be even bigger, especially with all the fans cheering with all their black and white on.
"I've grown up supporting Newcastle as a boy and have always been going to the derby games growing up.
"Being a fan and being a player for this game is the same thing so I'm desperate to get three points on Sunday. My whole family will be here and they're all supporters so for them, it's the same feeling. We want to win."
Supporters can use the hashtag #blackandwhitederby on the club's official social media accounts to send in their favourite pictures in matchday attire, with the best 30 shown on the big screen in front of a sell-out crowd at the match on Sunday lunchtime.
