Newcastle United's FA Cup third round tie at Leicester City will be played on Saturday, 3rd January.

Kick-off at the King Power Stadium will be 3pm, as the Magpies look to progress to the next stage of the famous cup competition, which they have won six times - in 1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952 and 1955.

It is another away tie for United, who are yet to play a cup game at home this season en route to the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.

In fact, it is the 24th time from the last 33 FA Cup and League Cup ties that Newcastle have come out of the hat as the away team - a 73 per cent away tie record In the FA Cup by itself, it is nine away ties out of the last 11.

When the teams met earlier in the season in league action at St. James' Park, Gabriel Obertan's second-half strike earned Newcastle a 1-0 win - their first victory of the season - and set Alan Pardew's side off on a run of six successive victories.

Ticket details will be announced in due course, right here at www.nufc.co.uk.
