Andre Marriner will referee Newcastle United's Capital One Cup quarter-final at Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off).
It is the second time this season the West Midlands-based official has taken charge of a Magpies' match this season, having been the man in the middle of November's single-goal home victory over Liverpool.
On that afternoon on Tyneside, Marriner booked seven players including United quartet Daryl Janmaat, Steven Taylor, Moussa Sissoko and Jack Colback.
In total this term, the whistler has overseen 13 fixtures across the Premier League, Europa League, Capital One Cup, Championship and League One, issuing 52 yellow cards and one red.
The 43-year-old began refereeing in 1992 when he was asked to stand-in for an official who did not turn up at a local league match, and he progressed through the ranks to become a Football League referee 11 years later.
Marriner's first Premier League appointment came in November 2004 with a 4-0 victory for Charlton Athletic over Norwich City, and he took charge of the 2013 FA Cup final between Manchester City and Wigan at Wembley.
On Wednesday at White Hart Lane, Marriner will be assisted by Scott Ledger and Gary Beswick, with Stuart Attwell the game's fourth official.
