Loan Watch: Draw For Darlow

Karl Darlow helped keep Nottingham Forest in the hunt for a Championship play-off spot

Karl Darlow helped keep Nottingham Forest in the hunt for a Championship play-off spot as they recorded a goalless draw at Rotherham United on Saturday.

It was the goalkeeper's tenth clean sheet of the season and took the Reds up to ninth place - five points off the top six.

Darlow almost gifted the Millers an early goal when he miskicked a back-pass, but recovered well to thwart Alex Revell.

There were chances at both ends in an entertaining contest, but the 24-year-old ensured Stuart Pearce's men returned home with a point, making good saves to deny Ben Pringle and Reece James.

Fellow Magpies loanee Jamaal Lascelles, who is also on loan at Forest, was an unused substitute at the New York Stadium.

In the Barclays Premier League, Hatem Ben Arfa did not make the substitutes' bench, as Hull City lost 2-0 at leaders Chelsea.

The French forward has not featured for the Tigers since a defat at Manchester United last month.

And in League Two, Adam Campbell was not involved as Hartlepool United suffered a 4-0 defeat at Burton Albion, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the Football League and six points adrift of safety.

In Italy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa played the full 90 minutes as Roma triumphed 1-0 away at Genoa in Serie A action.

The versatile defender was booked in the 29th minute as Roma closed the gap on leaders Juventus to a single point.

Finally, a hamstring injury continues to keep Sylvain Marveaux out of action at Guingamp, who shocked previously-unbeaten Paris Saint-Germain in Lique 1 with a 1-0 home win.
