Mike Dean will take charge of Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League fixture at West Ham on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
It is the second time this season the Wirral-based official has overseen a Magpies' match, having been in the middle of August's goalless draw at Aston Villa.
On that afternoon at Villa Park, Dean cautioned five players and sent off United defender Mike Williamson late on for two bookings.
In total during the 2014/15 campaign, Dean has refereed 11 games across the Barclays Premier League, Championship and Capital One Cup, issuing 51 yellow card and three reds.
Dean, aged 46, began officiating in 1985 and progressed through the ranks to the full referees' list in 1997 and the Select Group of referees for the Premier League in 2000.
He has taken charge of the 2004 Community Shield, the 2008 FA Cup final and the 2011 League Cup final.
On Saturday at the Boleyn Ground, Dean will be assisted by John Brooks and Stuart Burt, with James Adcock the game's fourth official.
