Juniors Get That Friday Feeling

Written by Newcastle Utd

Dave Watson's under-18s face Manchester United on Friday night, with Stefan Broccoli and Sean Longstaff included in the squad

Newcastle United return to Barclays Under-18 Premier League action when they take on Manchester United under the Friday night lights at Altrincham (kick-off 7pm).

Dave Watson's side won their last two league games, 3-2 against Blackburn and 4-3 against Wolves, before a three-week break.

And, having completed the double over the Red Devils at this level last season, the Magpies will look to continue their good form at the J. Davidson Stadium.

When the sides met at Little Benton in August, Manchester United ran out 3-2 winners thanks to a Demetri Mitchell hat-trick.

Sean Longstaff was on target for Newcastle that day and, after scoring a hat-trick on his Newcastle under-21s debut against Team Northumbria on Tuesday night, he is included in Watson's squad.

Dan Ward and Stefan Broccoli, who also marked their under-21 bows with goals in the midweek Techflow Group Northumberland FA Senior Cup success, have also travelled.

The match will be broadcast live on MUTV.

The squad is: Stefan Broccoli, Kyle Cameron, Luke Charman, Jamie Cobain, Ben Drennan, Mackenzie Heaney, Jack Hunter, Louis Johnson, Adam Laidler, Sean Longstaff, Michael Newberry, Brendan Pearson, Ben Pollock, Jordan Storey, Dan Ward, Paul Woolston.
