Abeid's Algeria Call-Up

A round-up of international call-ups for Newcastle's players, including Mehdi Abeid's selection for Algeria

Mehdi Abeid has been rewarded for his recent form for Newcastle with a call-up to the Algeria national team.

The midfielder, who was outstanding against Manchester City and Liverpool, has been chosen for African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ethiopia on Saturday, 15th November and Mali on Wednesday, 19th November.

Also set for African Cup of Nations qualifying action this month are Papiss Cisse and Cheick Tiote.

Cisse - who returned from a knee injury against Liverpool on Saturday - has been named in Senegal's squad to face Egypt in Cairo on 15th November and Botswana in Dakar four days later.

Meanwhile Tiote, who has missed United's last four games, has been called up for Ivory Coast's games against Sierra Leone and Cameroon, both in Abidjan.

Moussa Sissoko is in the France squad for home friendlies against Albania (Friday, 14th November) and Sweden (Tuesday, 18th November).

And at under-19 level, Olivier Kemen will travel to Greece for a friendly tournament which will see Les Bleus face the hosts, Spain and Germany between Monday, 10th November and 18th November.

Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong have both been called up by England under-18s for a double-header in Poland.
