Newcastle will look to bounce back from last weekend's Barclays Under-18 Premier League defeat to Everton when they travel to Blackburn on Saturday (12.30pm).

United had beaten Derby 5-2 and drawn 2-2 at Manchester City before being brought down to earth with a bump by the Toffees, who won 4-1 at Little Benton.

Goalkeeper Paul Woolston was helpless to keep out any of the goals and he misses out this time around as he is on international duty with England under-17s in Cyprus.

And with Ben Smith and Brendan Pearson injured, Liverpool's Owen Wheeler is set to wear the number one shirt.

Stefan Broccoli could make his first under-18s appearance of the campaign after recovering from injury and netting a hat-trick for the under-21s in their friendly at Wallsend Boys Club last week.

The squad is: Stefan Broccoli, Kyle Cameron, Luke Charman, Jamie Cobain, Ben Drennan, Nathan Harker, Mackenzie Heaney, Jack Hunter, Louis Johnson, Joe Kerridge, Adam Laidler, Sean Longstaff, Michael Newberry, Lewis Suddick, Daniel Ward, Owen Wheeler.
