INTERNATIONALS: Magpies Pair Feature For France

Magpies midfield duo Moussa Sissoko and Remy Cabella were both in international action on Tuesday night as France continued their fine post-World Cup form with a 3-0 away victory over Armenia.

Sissoko played for an hour against the minnows, who are currently bottom of European Championship qualifying Group I, before being replaced by 24-year-old Cabella.

Goals from ex-United loanee Loic Remy, Marseille's Andre Pierre Gignac and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann gave Les Bleus a convincing 3-0 win as they continue their preparations for hosting the European Championships in 2016.

Left-back Shane Ferguson enjoyed another memorable win with table-toppers Northern Ireland, as former Newcastle striker Michael O'Neill's men pulled off a 2-0 victory in Greece to maintain their 100% start to their qualifying campaign.

Jamie Ward and Kyle Lafferty got the goals in Piraeus and Ferguson, who spent last season on loan at Birmingham City, played 78 minutes before being replaced by MK Dons' Ben Reeves.

Meanwhile, Rob Elliot watched Republic of Ireland's dramatic draw with Germany from the bench while Jamaal Lascelles was an unused substitute as England Under-21s booked their place at the Euro 2015 finals with a 4-2 aggregate win over Croatia in Vinkovci.

Leicester City's Liam Moore - who could line up against United at St. James' Park on Saturday - and Derby County's Will Hughes were on target during last night's away leg to help replicate the scoreline Gareth Southgate's side achieved in the first leg at Molineux last week.
