Magpies Take On Wallsend

Written by Newcastle Utd

A Newcastle United XI face Wallsend Boys Club's senior team at Bigges Main on Tuesday (kick-off 4.30pm)

Peter Beardsley will go back to Wallsend Boys Club with his Newcastle United under-21 team on Tuesday (kick-off 4.30pm).

The former England star is one of several top players, including Alan Shearer, Steve Bruce, Michael Carrick, Lee Clark, Robbie Elliott and Fraser Forster, to have started out at the club.

Running alongside their famous junior set-up, Wallsend Boys Club's senior side play in the Northern Alliance First Division and they will host United at their Bigges Main pitch.

Admission is £3 for adults and free for under-16s, and Beardsley is expected to name a similar side to the one which took on Consett last week.

That could see schoolboy shot-stopper Carl Robinson start again in goal and right-back Jamie Sterry continue his comeback from injury.

Meanwhile Tom Heardman could get the chance to add to the 12 goals he's scored so far this season and midfielder Sean Longstaff may figure after netting his fifth Barclays Under-18 Premier League strike of the campaign at Manchester City on Saturday.

Newcastle's second-string return to Barclays Under-21 Premier League action next week, when they entertain Brighton at Whitley Park on Monday, 20th October (kick-off 1pm).
