Young defender Remie Streete has joined Port Vale on an initial 28-day youth loan.
The promising centre-back - who turns 20 next month - has yet to make his competitive debut, but has been on the Newcastle bench on a handful of occasions.
Having suffered a number of niggling injuries over the past two seasons, Streete has enjoyed a strong start to the current campaign at Barclays Under-21 Premier League level and scored twice at Arsenal last month.
Streete, who won the prized Jack Hixon Award in 2010, will be eligible for Vale's fixtures against Yeovil (home), Preston North End (away), Scunthorpe (home), Leyton Orient (home) and Colchester (away).
The Valiants currently sit 22nd in League One under interim manager Rob Page, who replaced Micky Adams last month.
Page told Vale's official website: "Myself and the chairman watched him against Arsenal and obviously he has been in and amongst Newcastle's first team.
"They think a lot of him there, we were impressed with what we saw at the game and we feel that if we can get players of his ability and quality in and amongst the lads then it can only benefit the boys we've already got here."
