Boss Believes Young Stars Will Come Good

Alan Pardew has faith his young squad will hit their stride if they gain a win at Swansea on Saturday

Some of Newcastle United's summer signings are still adapting to the life in the Barclays Premier League but manager Alan Pardew has faith his young squad will hit their stride if they gain a win at Swansea on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

During the close season, the Magpies brought in players from Holland, Spain, Argentina and France who were new to the English top flight.

And Pardew has stood by the Club's transfer policy of snapping up talented, young foreign players, believing once they become better acclimatised then results will follow.

"I do believe that in the squad we've got enough quality to get ourselves up this league," said the boss.

"It is difficult for international players, it's difficult for them to settle in the environment that we find ourselves in and it's not their doing - it comes from the back end of last year and it's tough on them.

"We've produced some fantastic players through this football club while I've been here and we need to start producing a few more,

"It is difficult in this environment for them to flower but hopefully we can get a win and get the best out of those individuals."

Off the nine signings Pardew brought in over the summer, only Jack Colback has any experience of top flight football in England after he was signed on a free transfer from Sunderland.

In particular, however, the manager hopes French international Remy Cabella can find his groove soon and adjust to the physicality of the Premier League.

"We have to give Remy a platform for him to perform and we are trying to find a way for him to do that," said Pardew.

"We're trying to find an avenue for him to get the best out of him. He's an individual that is going to take time to adjust to the Premier League because it is so much more physical than he is used to."
