Magpies Youngsters On Red Alert

Dave Watson's under-18s host Liverpool on Saturday morning as they look for a first league victory of the season

By Dan King - Newcastle United Digital Editor

Newcastle United's under-18s entertain Liverpool at Little Benton on Saturday (kick-off 11am).

Dave Watson's youngsters are still searching for their first win of the Barclays Under-18 Premier League season following last weekend's 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough and the Reds will provide another stern test.

Sean Longstaff will look to add to the three goals he's scored already this season while Jordan Storey, Kyle Cameron and Ben Drennan all played in last season's 3-3 draw between the two sides.

Jonathyn Quinn, Macauley Booth and Tom Heardman scored the goals that day but Rolando Aarons was the game's standout player and United will need somebody to step up to the plate and produce a similar performance this time around.

Admission at Newcastle's Academy is free and, as ever, spectators are welcome.

The squad is: Kyle Cameron, Luke Charman, Jamie Cobain, Ben Drennan, Liam Gibson, Mackenzie Heaney, Jack Hunter, Joe Kerridge, Adam Laidler, Sean Longstaff, Michael Newberry, Ben Pollock, Carl Robinson, Jordan Storey, Dan Ward, Paul Woolston.
