Teenage striker Jonathyn Quinn has joined Blyth Spartans on loan.
Newcastle have agreed to send the Ashington-born frontman to Croft Park in a work experience arrangement.
Wallsend Boys Club product Quinn came to prominence last season when he hit a hat-trick in the Magpies' FA Youth Cup third round win over Sunderland at St. James' Park, and he was on the bench for the first-team at Sheffield Wednesday in pre-season.
But he has struggled to break into Peter Beardsley's under-21 side on a regular basis so far this term and is sure to benefit from playing for Tom Wade's outfit, who narrowly missed out on the Evo-Stik Premier League play-offs last season.
Quinn is expected to figure in Blyth's training game against Seaton Delaval on Tuesday night and could make his competitive bow in the FA Cup second qualifying round tie at Skelmersdale United on Saturday.
