Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa made his full Roma debut on Sunday in a 2-0 Serie A home win over Cagliari.
Having previously appeared as a substitute, the versatile defender, who signed on loan for the Italian giants earlier this month, was in from the start at the heart of the Roma rearguard.
And Yanga-Mbiwa impressed, keeping a clean sheet as early goals from Mattia Destro and Alessandro Florenzi secured maximum points for the hosts at the Stadio Olimpico.
In France, Sylvain Marveaux's Guingamp suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Monaco on Sunday. The midfielder played 72 minutes of the Ligue 1 fixture before being replaced by Christophe Mandanne.
Back on home soil, Karl Darlow kept his sixth clean sheet of the season as Nottingham Forest played out a goalless draw at Millwall on Saturday.
The result keeps Forest top of the Championship, and it was a busy afternoon for Darlow at the Den, as the goalkeeper saved well from Lions pair Mathias Ranegie and Ricardo Fuller. Fellow United loanee Jamaal Lascelles was an unused substitute for the Reds.
In League Two, teenage goalkeeper Freddie Woodman had a watching brief as Hartlepool United lost 2-0 at Plymouth Argyle. Woodman was named among the substitutes at Home Park but not called into action.
