Newcastle United are to install a giant screen at St. James' Park.
The 60-metre-squared LED screen, manufactured by sports technology specialists ADI, will be situated on the glass panelling in the North-East corner of the stadium in the Leazes End, and will be visible to more than 40,000 spectators on matchdays.
It will be the joint-biggest screen in the Barclays Premier League and will be up and running for United's home fixture with Leicester City on Saturday, 18th October.
The new screen will utilise ADI's Virtuality 10mm LED technology and will broadcast exclusive Club content, live match action, instant replays, statistics, news and much more, to deliver an engaging fan experience.
The new digital platform also provides the Club's commercial partners with a new means of communication with fans inside the stadium - complementing the Magpies' existing matchday coverage.
Newcastle United managing director Lee Charnley said: "We have wanted such a facility for a long time now and we are delighted to have joined forces with ADI to install this state-of-the-art giant screen within St. James' Park.
"It will significantly improve the matchday experience for supporters and greatly enhance the interactivity and information we can provide to them at the stadium before, during and after the game.
"The North-East corner on the stadium was the optimum location where the positioning of such a large screen was structurally possible, while at the same time providing a sight line for the majority of supporters."
ADI's commercial manager for sport, Sharon Smith, added: "We're incredibly excited to be working with Newcastle United to deliver a platform that not only creates incredible fan engagement opportunity but also drives commercial revenue.
"With more than 30 LED displays now installed at sports venues across the UK, we are delighted to be serving St. James' Park and we look forward to working with the Club to add value to the matchday experience."
