nufcTV: Gillingham Highlights

Written by Newcastle Utd

nufcTV subscribers can watch extended highlights on Tuesday night's Capital One Cup victory over Gillingham

Alan Pardew's Magpies are safely through to the third round of the Capital One Cup thanks to a 1-0 win at League One Gillingham.

Former Sunderland youngster John Egan's own goal proved to be the difference but Newcastle had other chances too, with Siem de Jong, Emmanuel Riviere, Rolando Aarons, Remy Cabella and Fabricio Coloccini all coming close to finding the net while Massadio Haidara hit the crossbar with a powerful drive.

Tim Krul, meanwhile, had just one real save to make - although he did have to be at his best to deny Luke Norris in the second half.
