Four of Newcastle United's summer signings will make their debuts as the Magpies entertain Manchester City on the opening day of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season.

Full-back Daryl Janmaat, midfielder Jack Colback, and forwards Remy Cabella and Emmnauel Riviere have been handed starting spots by manager Alan Pardew at St. James' Park, with United looking for a positive start against the reigning champions.

Newcastle are expected to start in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with goalkeeper Tim Krul protected by a back four of Janmaat, Mike Williamson, captain Fabricio Coloccini and Paul Dummett.

Vurnon Anita and Colback will patrol the middle of the park for the hosts, giving Moussa Sissoko, Cabella and Yoan Gouffran freedom in front of them.

And that trio will be aiming to supply the ammunition for lone front man Riviere, who has already netted three goals in pre-season friendlies since arriving from Monaco last month.

On the substitutes' bench there is a place for another new arrival, 21-year-old striker Ayoze Perez, and the youngster is joined by Rolando Aarons, Gabriel Obertan, Mehdi Abeid, Steven Taylor, Massadio Haidara and Rob Elliot.
