Aarons Brings His 'A' Game

Written by Newcastle Utd

Rolando Aarons can now claim to be the first name on Alan Pardew's team sheet - alphabetically at least - after making his Newcastle bow

Rolando Aarons has shot to the top of the Newcastle United alphabet after making his Magpies debut.

The Jamaica-born teenager is now the first player on the Club's alphabetical list of all-time players after making his bow against Manchester City on Sunday.

He overtakes his current team-mate Mehdi Abeid who had been first in the list since September 2011, when he made his first competitive appearance at Nottingham Forest.

Before that, Chilean midfielder Clarence Acuna had held the distinction for more than ten years.

Aarons joined Newcastle, initially on trial, towards the end of the 2011/12 season from Bristol City.

He signed his first professional contract last term and now, after making his debut, he is literally the first name on Alan Pardew's team sheet.
