Newcastle United fans will become St. James' Park legends when their photos are displayed on a giant mural in the stadium

Newcastle United fans will become St. James' Park legends when their photos are displayed on a giant mural in the stadium.

Up to 5,000 fans will have the chance to see their face on the 6x3m wall behind the Gallowgate Stand, which will be unveiled at the Newcastle United v Hull City home game on 20th September.

To enter, fans should visit Wonga's NUFC fan site, www.wongafootball.com/nufc/competitions, and upload a photo. Entry will close at midnight on Friday, 22nd August.

Darryl Bowman from Wonga said: "As well as giving fans a unique opportunity to become part of the St. James' Park furniture, the mural recognises their contribution to the team and the city.

"It's the first of a number of initiatives this season where we're working with fans to get behind the team."

Dale Aitchison, head of partnerships at Newcastle United, said: "Wonga have continued to explore a wide range of fan engagement activities since they became the Club's principal sponsor and this is another example of their commitment to recognising our incredible supporters.

"We look forward to seeing the mural in its full glory next month."

Wonga will notify successful applicants by email before the mural is revealed.
