Yoan Gouffran believes Newcastle United have a squad to excite the Magpies' fan base - starting this weekend in the Schalke 04 Cup.
United travel to Germany on Friday for the latest part of their pre-season preparations, where they will face Malaga and hosts Schalke across the weekend at the VELTINS-Arena, in Gelsenkirchen.
While summer signings Siem de Jong, Emmanuel Riviere, Jack Colback and Ayoze Perez have already featured in the Club's warm-up games to date, the tournament could give supporters a chance to cast their eye over fellow new boys Remy Cabella and Daryl Janmaat.
And Gouffran believes the make-up of the new-look dressing room is one to whet the appetitie at St. James' Park.
"It is a different squad with new players and a different style of play," the French forward told nufc.co.uk.
"But the guys who played in the World Cup are back now, and we have got a very good team. I'm looking forward to everyone playing and hopefully that happens in Germany.
"The new players will bring a lot of quality to the squad. Manu scored a lot of goals in France and Remy went to the World Cup, so they are two great players.
"Siem was the captain of Ajax and is a very clever player who can score goals and make them too.
"These players will get the fans excited and that is a good thing."
