Everything you need to know about Newcastle United's new signing Daryl Janmaat

 

- Daryl Janmaat was born on 22nd July, 1989, in the southern Netherlands town of Leidschendam.

- Having come through the youth ranks at Feyenoord, the attack-minded defender switched to then-second division outfit ADO Den Haag as an 18-year-old.

- Janmaat would spend just one season in the Hague, however, with his performances attracting the attention of Heerenveen.

- The full-back made 99 appearances for Heerenveen across four years scoring eight goals in the process, and representing the club in the Europa League

- Following the expiration of his contract, he returned to Feyenoord in the summer of 2012 and was a regular for the Rotterdam giants, turning out 74 times and netting five times.

- A former Holland under-20 and under-21 international, Janmaat made his senior debut in September 2012, playing the full 90 minutes in a World Cup qualifying victory over Turkey.

- Since then, Daryl has established himself as a regular for his nation, winning 21 caps to date - five of which came as the Dutch finished third in this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
