Newcastle United will kick off their 2014/15 Barclays Premier League campaign at home to champions Manchester City after the fixtures for the new football season were released on Wednesday morning.

United will entertain City at St. James' Park on the provisional date of Saturday, 16th August, before travelling to the Midlands to face Aston Villa in their first away game just seven days later on Saturday, 23rd August.

The Magpies will get their first chance to taste Tyne-Wear derby day success on Saturday, 20th December, when they take on Sunderland at St. James' Park. The reverse fixture at the Stadium of Light will take place on Saturday, 4th April. Supporters are reminded that these fixture dates are subject to change.

The Club's Christmas schedule will see Newcastle heading to the North-West to face Louis van Gaal's Manchester United on Boxing Day before back-to-back home games against Everton, on Sunday, 28th December, and newly-promoted Burnley on New Year's Day.

An action-packed campaign will come to a conclusion with a home fixture against West Ham United on Sunday, May 24th.
