Opening Day - Home Or Away?
Written by Newcastle Utd
With the 2014/15 fixtures released on Wednesday, we take a look at the likelihood of a home or away game first up
As Newcastle United prepare for their 21st season in the Barclays Premier League, Magpies fans will be wondering whether they will see their heroes at home on the opening day of the 2014/15 campaign, or if they will have to travel to watch Alan Pardew's side.
And judging by recent seasons, you wouldn't bank on St. James' Park hosting matchday action on Saturday, 17th August, as in the last ten years, United have only been at home first up on three occasions - fixtures that brought two wins and a draw.
The last four away trips on the opening day of the season have all been to the North-West of England, while 2005 saw a trip to the capital.
Newcastle's fixtures for the 2014/15 season are released at 9am on Wednesday morning and you will see them first here on nufc.co.uk and at our official Twitter page @NUFC.
