Goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell has agreed to join Derby County following his release by Newcastle United.
The Hartlepool-born 19-year-old's contract at St. James' Park expires at the end of this month and he has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at the iPro Stadium.
Mitchell - who made his Reserve team debut for the Magpies as a 15-year-old - did not make a first team appearance for Newcastle but was Jak Alnwick's understudy at under-21 level last term as well as turning out for the under-18s on a handful of occasions.
In addition, he spent time on loan at Workington.
He becomes the third United player to find a new club in the Championship after Dan Gosling signed for Bournemouth and Conor Newton joined Rotherham.
Shola Ameobi is likely to decide his future after this summer's World Cup, where he will represent Nigeria. Midfielders Michael Richardson, Brandon Miele and Steven Logan have also been told that their contracts will not be renewed.
