Satka Selected For Slovakia

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle's promising defender Lubo Satka has received an emergency call-up to Slovakia's under-21 squad

Lubo Satka's meteoric rise continues, with the 18-year-old defender receiving a late call-up to Slovakia's under-21 squad for their friendly game this weekend.

The teenager, who was on the Newcastle United bench for the first time at Liverpool on the final day of the season after forcing his way into the senior squad towards the end of the campaign, was already due to play for the under-20s this summer.

But under-21 coach Ivan Galad has now called up Satka, who was first reserve, after one of his original squad picked up an injury in training.

Slovakia's under-21s face England's 'C' team in Poprad on Saturday.

Ilava-born Satka, who has already played for his country at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level, will then join up with the under-20s squad as planned ahead of their game against Estonia on Tuesday, 27th May.

Veľa šťastia, Lubo (that's good luck in Slovakian).
