United Duo Eye Euro Glory

Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong could be crowned European Champions with England Under-17s

Newcastle United duo Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong could be crowned European Champions on Wednesday night with England Under-17s.

The pair have played starring roles in the Young Lions' route to the final, where they will face Holland at the Ta'Qali National Stadium (6pm kick-off BST).

Goalkeeper Woodman will almost certainly line-up in between the sticks, but there is a doubt over number nine Armstrong, who suffered an ankle injury in England's semi-final victory over Portugal and has been rated touch and go.

"We are delighted to be here," said national coach John Peacock, ahead of the final.

"It's always a challenge to get to the final when you are up against eight quality teams in this competition.

"I think there are two very good teams in the final, and two attacking teams. I would expect that it will be a real good game of football."
