Shola Ameobi is relishing the opportunity to have a say in who lifts the Barclays Premier League trophy, when Newcastle United travel to Liverpool on Sunday.
Although Manchester City are in pole position to claim the honours - needing just a point against West Ham - the Reds could still finish on top of the pile.
And for long-serving Ameobi, it is a great scenario to be involved in, as the Magpies look to end the 2013/14 campaign on a high.
"What better way to finish a season?" he told nufc.co.uk.
"A lot of years you get these final games that mean nothing in context to where you are in the league, but to go to Anfield on Sunday with something still riding on it, will be great.
"This Club has had some famous battles with Liverpool in the past, so hopefully we get another one.
"Liverpool have been unbelievable this season, and so to go there and get a result would really mean something to us as players.
"They are fighting for the title, we are fighting for pride, and we want to show the fans that we are still fighting and that we can mix it with the best teams.
"It will be a match we all enjoy and hopefully we can make the fans proud of how we finish the season."
