Loan Watch: Abeid's Perfect Ten

Mehdi Abeid marked his return from injury with a tenth goal of the season on Wednesday night - and put Panathinaikos on course for the Champions League.

The midfielder missed his temporary team's 1-1 draw with PAOK at the weekend after limping off shortly after scoring against Atromiros at the end of April.

But he was back in the starting XI against Asteros Tripolis and scored the second goal in a vital 3-1 win. With the victory secured, he came off in the 84th minute.

Panathinaikos now top the four-team end-of-season mini league to decide the final Champions League qualifier from the Greek Super League with seven points from three matches.

Meanwhile in the Scottish Premier League, St. Mirren lost 1-0 at Kilmarnock.

Conor Newton played for 59 minutes while Adam Campbell, once again, was an unused substitute.
