Loan Watch: Abeid Books Final Spot

Written by Newcastle Utd

Mehdi Abeid scored to help Panathinaikos reach the final of the Greek Cup with victory over OFI on Wednesday

Mehdi Abeid's eighth goal of the season helped to put Panathinaikos through to the final of the Greece Cup on Wednesday.

The on-loan Magpies midfielder struck in the 20th minute of their sem-final with OFI to level the aggregate score after To Trifylli trailed 1-0 from the first leg.

That forced extra time at the Stadio Apóstolos Nikolaidis, during which two goals from Marcus Berg put the Athens outfit through.

Meanwhile Curtis Good is also hoping to play in a cup final this season.

The Australian defender - who started last season's Capital One Cup final for Bradford City - has recovered from injury and could now come into contention for Dundee United's Scottish Cup final against St. Johnstone next month.
