The Blues Are Back

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle's FA Youth Cup conquerors, Chelsea, are back in the North-East on Saturday to face Dave Watson's side in the league

Chelsea's under-18s are back on Tyneside on Saturday for the first time since knocking Newcastle out of the FA Youth Cup at the quarter-final stage.

The Blues were 3-2 winners at St. James' Park last month and head to Little Benton for an 11am kick-off on the back of beating Arsenal in the first leg of their semi-final in midweek.

Since exiting the cup, Dave Watson's side have lost just once - last weekend's 1-0 reverse at Arsenal - and are looking to finish their Barclays Under-18 Premier League season strongly.

Trialist Dan Ward is again named in the squad while Freddie Woodman is likely to return in goal after helping England to qualify for the European Under-17 Championships.

The squad is: Daniel Barlaser, Kyle Cameron, Luke Charman, Jamie Cobain, Ben Drennan, Liam Gibson, Alex Gilliead, Tom Heardman, Jack Hunter, Joe Kerridge, Adam Laidler, Michael Newberry, Dan Ward, Callum Williams, Freddie Woodman, Paul Woolston.
