Mbabu To Continue Comeback Against Reds

Written by Newcastle Utd

Kevin Mbabu could make only his second appearance of 2014 when Newcastle's under-21s host Manchester United on Wednesday night

Swiss defender Kevin Mbabu will continue his comeback from injury when Newcastle's under-21s host Manchester United on Wednesday (kick-off 7pm).

The right-back, who joined United from Servette in January 2013, made his first appearance since the turn of the year when he appeared as a late substitute as Peter Beardsley's side lost 5-2 at Liverpool on Friday, and he's included in the squad for the visit of the Red Devils.

Rolando Aarons, who has scored in his last three games at this level, will get another chance to shine while Callum Roberts will be looking to build on his first Barclays Under-21 Premier League goal for the Magpies, which came at Anfield three days ago.

Gael Bigirimana will again feature alongside Lubo Satka and Remie Streete, who were both part of the first-team squad for Tuesday's game with Everton.

However, forward Jonathyn Quinn is absent following a family bereavement.

Admission is £3 for adults and £1 concessions, with season ticket holders and Members gaining free entry.

The squad is: Rolando Aarons, Jak Alnwick, Daniel Barlaser, Gael Bigirimana, Alex Gilliead, Olivier Kemen, Ryan McKinnon, Kevin Mbabu, Greg Olley, Callum Roberts, Lubo Satka, Ben Smith, Liam Smith, Jamie Sterry, Remie Streete, Callum Williams, Paul Woolston.
