Haris Vuckic and James Tavernier

Loan pair Haris Vuckic and James Tavernier are rapidly establishing themselves as the best double act to hit Rotherham since the Chuckle Brothers.

The Newcastle duo have helped the Millers to climb the League One table since heading to the New York Stadium in November, and both were on target in Saturday's 6-0 win over Notts County.

Right-back Tavernier curled home a free-kick in the 12th minute to put the home side in front with his third goal for the club, then Vuckic made it 2-0 soon afterwards with a deflected effort.

Alex Revell and Kieran Agard got a goal each before Vuckic got his second, then Tom Hitchcock - who came on for Vuckic in the 76th minute - completed the scoring. Tavernier played the whole match.

They weren't the only Magpies loanees to find the target either, as Mehdi Abeid scored in Panathinaikos' shock 3-0 win at Greek Superleague leaders Olympiakos. He fired in the third from a free kick in the 89th minute on Sunday.

And on Saturday, midfielder Conor Newton netted in St. Mirren's 2-0 win over Kilmarnock. He drilled the Saints ahead with just over ten minutes to go before Gregg Wylde added the second.

Newton played the whole game while Adam Campbell appeared as an 89th minute substitute.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premier League, Curtis Good completed another 90 minutes as Dundee United continued their fine run with a 3-1 win at Hibernian on Friday.

Injury sidelined Jonas Gutierrez for Norwich's 4-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday while Romain Amalfitano missed Dijon's 2-2 draw with Creteil on Friday and Shane Ferguson played no part as Birmingham lost to Ipswich on Saturday.
