Alan Pardew has made two changes to his Newcastle United starting line-up as the Magpies travel to Hull City (3pm kick-off).

Defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and forward Luuk de Jong both earn recalls for the Barclays Premier League fixture at the KC Stadium.

They replace captain Fabricio Coloccini - who has returned home to Argentina following a family bereavement - and Papiss Cisse, who drops down to the substitutes' bench.

United will start with a 4-4-1-1 formation for their clash with the Tigers, as they look to build on last weekend's victory over Aston Villa.

Goalkeeper Tim Krul is protected by a back four of Mathieu Debuchy, Mike Williamson, Yanga-Mbiwa and youngster Paul Dummett.

Moussa Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran will take up roles on either flank, with Vurnon Anita and stand-in skipper Cheick Tiote patrolling the middle of the park.

And Dutch international front man de Jong will be asked to play in a number ten role, slightly off 12-goal leading scorer Loic Remy.

Joining Cisse on the bench are Shola Ameobi, Sylvain Marveaux, Dan Gosling, Steven Taylor, Massadio Haidara and goalkeeper Jak Alnwick.

Hull City (3-5-2): Allan McGregor; Alex Bruce, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa; Ahmed Elomhamady, David Meyler, Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore, Liam Rosenior; Nikica Jelavic, Shane Long

Substitutes: Steve Harper, James Chester, Robert Koren, Stephen Quinn, George Boyd, Sone Aluko, Yannick Sagbo

Newcastle United (4-4-1-1): Tim Krul; Mathieu Debuchy, Mike Williamson, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Paul Dummett; Moussa Sissoko, Cheick Tiote (c), Vurnon Anita, Yoan Gouffran; Luuk de Jong; Loic Remy

Substitutes: Jak Alnwick, Massadio Haidara, Steven Taylor, Dan Gosling, Sylvain Marveaux, Shola Ameobi, Papiss Cisse

Referee: Kevin Friend (Leicestershire)
