Freddie Woodman

Freddie Woodman kept a clean sheet on his return to the international fold on Wednesday.

The goalkeeper, recalled to John Peacock's England under-17 squad after recovering from an ankle injury, started the Young Lions' opening game of the Algarve Tournament against Holland.

And after a goalless first half, England scored twice in the second period through Southampton winger Josh Sims and Tottenham's Joshua Onomah.

In truth, Woodman enjoyed a quiet afternoon in Lagos as he played the whole match.

He will hope to keep his place for England's second game of the competition, against hosts Portugal, on Friday.

Adam Armstrong had also been called up for the tournament but was withdrawn as he remains on the fringes of Alan Pardew's Newcastle squad.
