Rob Elliot is one of three Newcastle United players who have been called-up for international duty next month.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper is named in a 29-man Republic of Ireland party for their home friendly against Serbia on Wednesday, 5th March.
Elliot is yet to win a cap for his nation but has been an unused substitute on three ocassions since his first call-up last October.
Elsewhere, teammate Shola Ameobi is in Nigeria's squad as they face Mexico in friendly action on Wednesday, 5th March. The fixture will be played in Atlanta, USA.
And striker Papiss Cisse completes the call-ups for now, as he will represent Senegal in a friendly against Mali on Wednesday, 5th March. The front man will not have to travel far, however, with Paris the venue for the match.
