Newcastle v Tottenham: Duo Return

Yoan Gouffran and Papiss Cisse return from injury as Newcastle United entertain Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Premier League on Wednesday night (7.45pm kick-off).

The attacking pair have been sidelined by respective groin and back complaints, but are straight into the Magpies' starting line-up at St. James' Park.

Gouffran and Cisse replace Paul Dummett and Hatem Ben Arfa, and those are the only two changes from Saturday's defeat at high-flying Chelsea.

Newcastle will line up in a 4-4-2 formation, with goalkeeper Tim Krul in between the sticks having passed a late fitness on an ankle injury.

The Dutch stopper will be behind a back four of Mathieu Debuchy - who has also shaken off a knock - Mike Williamson, Steven Taylor and Davide Santon.

Gouffran will start wide on the right of United's midfield, with Sammy Ameobi on the opposite flank, and stand-in captain Moussa Sissoko and Vurnon Anita patrolling the centre of the park.

Up top, Cisse will partner January signing Luuk de Jong, who starts a match at St. James' Park for the first time.

On the substitutes' bench there are places for Dummett and Ben Arfa, and they are joined by Shola Ameobi, Sylvain Marveaux, Dan Gosling, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Rob Elliot.
