Goal Accreditation Panel Makes Its Ruling

Written by Newcastle Utd

Premier League rule no own-goal for Wiliamson

The Premier League's Goal Accreditation Panel has today viewed all goals for the period 13th January- 21st January 2014.

And the good news for United defender Mike Williamson is that he has not been credited with scoring an own goal in Saturday's win at West Ham.

The full ruling of the Panel is as follows:

1. Norwich City's goal against Hull City on 18th January 2014 has been confirmed as a
Ryan Bennett goal.

2. West Ham United's goal against Newcastle United on 18th January 2014 was in fact a
Carlton Cole goal and has therefore not been credited as an own goal (Mike Williamson).

3. Chelsea's first goal against Manchester United on 19th January 2014 has been confirmed as
a Samuel Eto'o goal.
