Yoan Gouffran goals at St. James' Park are like London buses - you wait ages for one and then a quartet turn up in quick succession.
Having gone eight months before netting his first Tyneside strike following a January switch from Bordeaux, the Frenchman has now scored in each of his last four home games.
The most recent came on Saturday against Southampton - an opportunistic effort, taking advantage of Jos Hooiveld's miscue to pounce and tap home.
That followed up goals against West Bromwich Albion, Norwich and Chelsea; all at Gallowgate.
Gouffran revealed he has no idea what the secret is behind his current impressive run of form but admits the backing he receives from around 50,000 passionate Geordies only serves as inspiration in the final third.
"The first goal here took a little while to come - it was hard to make it happen," explained the forward.
"But as soon as I knocked that first one in they have seemed to come in a wave afterwards.
"It feels great every time I score. The fans are magnificent, and to hear them celebrate when I score is an amazing feeling.
"I'm happy every time I score, of course. Scoring is a great thing for me but it's also good to get the points for the team."
United had to settle for a share of the spoils against Southampton, as Gouffran's goal was cancelled out by Jay Rodriguez midway through the second half.
It was a disappointed home dressing room after the final whistle, but the 27-year-old was quick to point out that the Magpies have only tasted defeat once in their last seven outings.
"It is definitely two points dropped for us because we wanted to go out there and win," he said.
"Southampton are a great team, very good in the league, but we expect to beat every team we face.
"We were a little disappointed with the result because we would have liked to go out there and win, to climb higher up the league. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.
"We are on a good run at the minute though and we have a lot of points in the bank, so we will keep on going, go to Crystal Palace and try to move forward again.
"There were plenty of positives to take, that's for sure."
