Written by Newcastle Utd

Mehdi Abeid scored a stoppage time goal as Panathinaikos beat Kalloni in the Greek Super League on Sunday.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who had already set up one goal, wrapped up the scoring in a 4-0 away win for his side.

It was his second goal of the season and capped a good performance from the Algerian, who played the whole match.

Meanwhile in the French Cup, Romain Amalfitano claimed an assist as he played the first half of Dijon's 6-1 win over amateurs AS Fabregues but it was not such a good weekend for Newcastle's other loan stars.

Dan Gosling played the full game and was booked as Blackpool lost 5-1 at Derby.

Conor Newton also played the whole match as St. Mirren drew 0-0 with Inverness Caledonian Thistle but Shane Ferguson wasn't involved in Birmingham's 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough.

Michael Richardson had a free week, with Accrington Stanley already out of the FA Cup, while Haris Vuckic and James Tavernier didn't feature in Rotherham's cup exit at the hands of Rochdale to prevent them from becoming cup tied.
