Haris Heads To The New York Stadium

Haris Vuckic has joined Newcastle team-mate James Tavernier in signing for Rotherham United on loan until January

Rotherham have beaten the deadline to bring in a second Newcastle United youngster on loan.

Slovenian forward Haris Vuckic has followed team-mate James Tavernier in joining the Millers, currently seventh in League One.

On Thursday morning Tavernier completed a temporary switch to the New York Stadium until January 2nd, and Vuckic has signed for the same period.

The window for emergency loans involving Football League clubs closed at 5pm and the deal was completed just before the cut-off point.

Vuckic, 21, has played once this season for United - in August's Capital One Cup second round success at Morecambe - and has made 17 appearances in all, scoring once.

He also spent part of the 2011/12 season on loan with Cardiff. This season he's scored four times in six Barclays Under-21 Premier League matches.
