Conor Newton scored his first goal of the season as St. Mirren won 3-0 at Patrick Thistle on Saturday.

The midfielder struck in the 72nd minute to put the Buddies two up at the Firhill Stadium in the Scottish Premier League and played the whole game.

Also completing 90 minutes was Dan Gosling in the Championship, but his Blackpool side lost 3-2 to Ipswich after a stoppage time goal from Daryl Murphy.

In France's Ligue 2, Romain Amalfitano's Dijon lost 2-0 at leaders Metz with the Magpies midfielder playing for 45 minutes while Mehdi Abeid saw 72 minutes of action and was booked as Panathinaikos won 2-0 at Aris in the Greek Super League.

Birmingham were 3-1 winners at Huddersfield but Shane Ferguson watched the match from the bench while Michael Richardson missed Accrington's 1-0 home defeat to Tranmere in the FA Cup through injury.
