Loan Watch: Water Disappointing Day For Newton

Written by Newcastle Utd

Rain stopped play for Conor Newton's St. Mirren on Saturday, but Dan Gosling, Shane Ferguson, Mehdi Abeid and Romain Amalfitano were all in action

Heavy rain saw St. Mirren's home game against Ross County abandoned after 52 minutes on Saturday - with the Buddies 2-0 up.

Conor Newton started but is still on ten appearances for the season after his latest was expunged from the record books.

In the Championship, Dan Gosling played the full 90 minutes for Blackpool as they won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest.

However, Shane Ferguson couldn't prevent Birmingham from losing by the same scoreline at Charlton. He arrived as a 62nd minute substitute.

Mehdi Abeid also came from the bench, entering the fray for Panathinaikos after 72 minutes of their defeat to Olympiakos but Michael Richardson missed Accrington's 1-1 draw with Wycombe through injury.

On Friday, meanwhile, Romain Amalfitano played 90 minutes for Dijon as they came from two goals down to draw with Niort.
