Loic Remy is one of four Newcastle United players in the France squad for their upcoming international double header.

The front man has been in superb form for the Magpies this campaign, netting three goals in four appearances since his arrival from Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan.

Remy, age 26, has 18 caps for his country but last featured back in March as a substitute against Georgia.

He is joined in the squad by defender Mathieu Debuchy and midfielders Yohan Cabaye and Moussa Sissoko.

Les Bleus take on Australia in a friendly in Paris on Friday, 11th October, before they face Finland - also at home - in a World Cup qualifier four days later.

Elsewhere, Shola Ameobi will be hoping to make another appearance for Nigeria on Sunday, 13th October, when they travel to Ethiopia in a World Cup qualifying fixture.

Magpies skipper Fabricio Coloccini has been named in the Argentina squad for their qualifiers against Peru (11th October) and Uruguay (15th October), while Cheick Tiote and the Ivory Coast will face Senegal on Saturday, 12th October in Abidjan.

Sammy Ameobi is part of the England Under-21 set-up which has two UEFA European Under-21 Championship group one qualifiers.

Gareth Southgate's Young Lions travel to San Marino on Thursday, 10th October, before entertaining Lithuania at Ipswich Town's Portman Road stadium on Tuesday, 15th October.

Finally, Haris Vuckic has been named in the Slovenia Under-21 squad which faces Denmark and Bulgaria.
