Gosling To Face Old Club

Written by Newcastle Utd

Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley are able to call upon his very own Magnificent Seven as Newcastle take on Everton in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League on Monday (kick-off 7pm).

St. James' Park is the venue and Dan Gosling will captain a side also including Gael Bigirimana, Haris Vuckic, Sammy Ameobi, Paul Dummett, Adam Campbell and James Tavernier, all of whom have played for the Magpies in the top flight.

Teenage starlet Adam Armstrong, who has three goals in three second-string games this term, and leading scorer Jonathyn Quinn are also included in a strong squad.

For Donachie and Beardsley, the match will bring back memories of their time with the Toffees, Donachie as a coach and Beardsley as a player, while Gosling joined Newcastle from Everton just over three years ago.

And it is also a chance for United to gain some revenge for their penalty shoot-out defeat at Goodison Park in last season's play-offs.

Admission is free to season ticket holders and Members, or £3 for adults and £1 for concessions with cash turnstiles in operation.

The squad is: Rolando Aarons, Lewis Aird, Jak Alnwick, Sammy Ameobi, Adam Armstrong, Gael Bigirimana, Adam Campbell, Paul Dummett, Macaulay Gillesphey, Alex Gilliead, Dan Gosling, Jonathan Mitchell, Jonathyn Quinn, Lubo Satka, James Tavernier, Haris Vuckic.
