Aston Villa v Newcastle: Two Changes

Written by Newcastle Utd

Loic Remy and Yohan Cabaye both start for Newcastle away at Aston Villa in the Premier League

At Villa Park

Loic Remy makes his full Newcastle United debut at Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League (3pm kick-off).

The on-loan striker's inclusion is one of two changes by Magpies' manager Alan Pardew from their victory over Fulham last time out, with Yohan Cabaye also stepping up into the starting line-up at Villa Park.

Dropping out are Shola Ameobi and Sylvain Marveaux, although the latter is named among the substitutes.

As well as the personnel, there is also a change in formation for United, who will go 4-3-3 as they look to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to four matches.

The back five remain unchanged, meaning goalkeeper Tim Krul is protected by a defence of Mathieu Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, captain Fabricio Coloccini and Davide Santon.

Cabaye joins Moussa Sissoko and Vurnon Anita in the middle of the park, allowing Remy and Hatem Ben Arfa to join Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse in a three-pronged front line.

On the bench there is a place for Steven Taylor, who returns having served a three-game ban, and he is joined by Marveaux, Rob Elliot, Paul Dummett, fit-again Cheick Tiote, Sammy Ameobi and Yoan Gouffran.
