Midfielder Romain Amalfitano has joined French side Dijon FCO on a season-long loan, Newcastle United can confirm.
The 24-year-old arrived at St. James' Park from Reims in the summer of 2012 as a player for the future and made four appearances last season, all in the Europa League.
However he has not figured at first-team level since last November, when the Magpies drew with Maritimo.
On Monday, the Nice-born schemer limped out of the under-21s' 5-4 defeat to West Ham.
His brother, Morgan, joined West Bromwich Albion on loan from Marseille earlier this week.
