It's Hammer Time For Under-21s

Written by Newcastle Utd

Romain Amalfitano and Gael Bigirimana are included in the Newcastle under-21 squad to face West Ham United on Monday afternoon

Three players with senior experience are part of the Newcastle United under-21s line-up to face West Ham on Monday while a further four players could make their second-string debuts.

Romain Amalfitano, Gael Bigirimana and Curtis Good are all included in Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley's side for the 1pm kick-off at Whitley Park.

While French midfielder Amalfitano has yet to play for the first-team this season, Bigirimana and Good both started in last week's Capital One Cup win at Morecambe.

At the other end of the spectrum, Ben Drennan, Lewis Aird, Callum Roberts and Liam Smith are all untested at this level.

England under-17 international midfielder Drennan, livewire forward Roberts and playmaker Smith all played for United's under-18s against Southampton on Saturday, with Roberts on target in a 2-1 defeat.

Smith, meanwhile, has two goals for Dave Watson's juniors so far this term.

Alex Gilliead, Greg Olley, Jonathyn Quinn and Rolando Aarons were also involved against the Saints while left-back Macaulay Gillesphey was an unused substitute.

West Ham, meanwhile, include Elliot Lee - son of Newcastle legend Rob - in their party.

Admission is £3 for adults and £1 concessions, and free to all season ticket holders and Members.

The squad is: Rolando Aarons, Lewis Aird, Jak Alnwick, Romain Amalfitano, Gael Bigirimana, Ben Drennan, Macaulay Gillesphey, Alex Gilliead, Curtis Good, Jonathan Mitchell, Greg Olley, Jonathyn Quinn, Callum Roberts, Lubo Satka, Liam Smith, Remie Streete.
