Adam Campbell

Magpies youngster Adam Campbell has agreed a month's loan deal with Carlisle United.

The 18-year-old has joined the League One side until September 14th in order to gain more experience.

He made his Magpies bow against Atromitos in the Europa League last season and made three appearances as a substitute in the Barclays Premier League last term.

This summer he has played for both the first-team and the under-21s and scored twice for the second-string at Gateshead earlier this month.

In previous seasons, the likes of Tim Krul and James Tavernier have enjoyed successful loan spells at Brunton Park.

Carlisle boss Greg Abbot told his club's official website: "Adam is a good, young player who has been right on the fringes of the Newcastle United first team.

"I spoke with Alan (Pardew) about him and he thinks a heck of a lot of him. He's at a stage of the season where he wants Adam to get more football and he knows that we look after players like this.

"We have a really good relationship with Newcastle and Alan knows that we are after numbers to help our squad at the moment. Hopefully this is one of those that will work out for all parties because there is no doubt that we are getting a good player who has a bright future ahead of him."
